Milestone INQAAHE membership signifies exciting new horizons for ASIC

ASIC has been awarded full membership of the prestigious QA association.

Becoming a Full Member of INQAAHE (International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education) is another landmark moment in ASIC’s history. It reflects our transformation from our inception in 2007, as a government-approved body operating solely in the UK, to our present – a globally active organisation working in over 70 countries. To gain Full Member status, the Membership & Membership Services Committee of the INQAAHE Board have independently assessed and approved our mission and operation, recognising the stringent procedures we follow in our accreditation methodology.

Founded over 30 years ago, INQAAHE was the first global community of accreditors and quality assurers in the higher education sector. Today, with almost 300 members, it remains the most prestigious and influential. INQAAHE is proactive in setting and raising professional standards worldwide; in official partnership with UNESCO, it provides a forum to discuss global issues beyond national or regional boundaries in areas such as cross-border education.

Membership gives ASIC access to a wealth of information on the latest trends, aspirations, and challenges concerning higher education in all the regions where we are already active and those where we are planning to be in the future. INQAAHE offers a rich menu of services, including conferences, forums, webinars, online training, a journal, bulletins, a good practice database, and even funding for projects and professional qualifications in QA.

With the launch of our new branding and resources for institutions in the coming months, ASIC is ramping up its advocacy role in the international education sector – and we intend to play an active role in INQAAHE’s many endeavours. We are confident that our institutions, in turn, will reap the benefits of our membership.
